Boney ME?!!

Now this has got to be most useless revelation.. Why did Boney M name themselves Boney M??

Let me start by saying that this blog is not at all researched and I mean no disrespect to the band. But you've got to give it to them... I mean, I distinctly remember the lead singer and all the backup singers being immensely skinny.... Hence BONEY M(e)???? I got it right didn't I?

With 95 fm playing in the back and the artist singing, I'm just here for the music, the line just suits me perfectly!!

Why do we even care if the person standing next to us is skinny or fat.. Is it our subconscious trying to justify our own self image?

Then again, I'm just here for the music (literally and metaphorically speaking now!!!)

As my subconscious takes over without the aid of any external medication, er.. I mean before my mind goes adrift I'd like to say only one thing. LOVE THYSELF: Skinny, fat, tall or short, watever you may be!

Love yourself, Pamper yourself, coz no one will cherish you more than you do... it's all about being you 'coz tomorrow you'll be long gone!!!!

Sunday Brunch

With another Sunday, another week gone by... So, this time I decided to try something new and treat myself to a nice Brunch. Well, it could have been a breakfast as well, but lazy me, I just could not wake up in time.

For me, it has to be about health as well (whatever the ignorant me knows that is!) so to start with, I decided to try the current favourite mantra,
detoxification. Thanks to a recent visit to a family friend where I tried some green tea, it got me reading about all the goodness they offer.

I found out that green tea is all dried herbs / flowers / fruits and how it helps cure the most difficult of ailments like diabetes, arthritis... We are after all all dust and bone so why not?!

Though yesterday's shopping spree did make me buy a tin of organic green tea from FabIndia, I still wanted to try cooking up a home made concoction. So I made myself a purer and customized green tea with some fennel, black pepper, cinnamon, ginger, basil, cardamon and cloves.

Now I prefer my green tea with some honey and after an infusion for 5 mins, a healthy meal of green tea with some toasted bread with plum crush and loads of fruits felt like the food of the Gods!

With my voracious diet, I had to move to the next course and decided to cook some sauteed mushrooms with a spiced up onion and tomatoes sauce loaded with garlic... yummmm! Mushrooms go very well with rice so my obvious choice was rice.

Its 3:40 p.m. and I am still deciding on something sweet to give closure to my taste buds.

All the cooking was made possible with a playlist of peppy music .. LOUD and CLEAR from my room to the kitchen!!

Bon Appetit to ones who want to try it out next weekend..............

Me the movie buff

Being an avid movie viewer, I thought I would dedicate a full page to the movies I have loved watching while growing up and some of which I just can't get enough of.

I share this passion for watching good movies with my brother which in turn is instilled from our dad who never missed any of those James Bond movie. True that his choice of movies is totally different from mine, but that does not stop me from sharing with him the story of any good movie I see and recommending him to watch it as well. Being in the same age group, my brother and I share the same taste in movies so it becomes a joy to talk at length even about about particular instances we loved from a particular movie... Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind is one I can recall.

The obsession does not stop at just liking and seeing the movie n number of times but goes one level ahead to exploring their soundtrack, certain dialogues that just stick ( courtesy The last Samurai, Journey to the west ...).

It would be unfair for me to name the best movie I have seen by far as the list would be endless and I could not rate them. Hence, I shall be updating this page with the movie I enjoyed watching and would recommend watching from now on...

My new found passion: Photography

Of late, I have built an interest in photography so I go out with friends to places in and around Delhi to capture the beauty around us that is left unnoticed many a times.

My first photo shoot started with with a trip to Humayun's tomb. Its a shame that I never knew this place existed till a few months back.

Moving on.. I could not have picked a better day to go shooting as the sun was just right and the sky was a lil cloudy which gave me some amazing shots! This shot of Isa Khan Niyazi's tomb with the clouds in the background just makes the picture perfect!!

Now, I still don't have one of those D-SLRs with me so I had to make do with my old but trusty Nikon 5600 which did not disappoint me.

I was able to get some decent shots and learnt a few tricks in the process. The picture in the left is one I always wanted to capture, with the shadows of the pillars and the passage. Wondering if this might be a time portal to take me into another time and era altogether...

Coming back to reality, as I moved forward towards the main tomb structure, I was glad to see some restoration work going on.

Another one I liked was an over-exposed picture of the sun behind the clouds... Gives a feeling of weightlessness somehow to me. Ethereal.....

After all these practice shoots, my absolute favourite of the trip had to be the shot of the tomb itself. The lighting was perfect and surprisingly after a
zillion clicks, my hand did not shake in this one, giving me a perfect shot (well, at least for a beginner!)
